Who Is the Chief Justice of China? - China Law in One Minute

Zhou Qiang (周強) is the current Chief Justice of China, that is, the President of the Supreme People's Court. 

Chief Justice Zhou Qiang serves the current tenure from 2018 to 2023, and is also the Chief Justice of the previous tenure (from 2013 to 2018). 

The President of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) shall be elected or removed by the National People's Congress (NPC). 

The President of the SPC shall not serve life; his/her tenure is the same as that of the NPC; he/she shall serve no more than two consecutive tenures.

Zhou Qiang is the 13th and 14th President of the SPC. 

Historically, presidents of the SPC in the past 13 tenures are respectively Shen Junru (沈鈞儒), Dong Biwu (董必武), Xie Juezai (謝覺哉), Yang Xiufeng (楊秀峰), Jiang Hua (江華), Jiang Hua (江華), Zheng Tianxiang (鄭天翔), Ren Jianxin (任建新), Ren Jianxin (任建新), Xiao Yang (肖揚), Xiao Yang (肖揚) and Wang Shengjun (王勝俊).
