China Requires to Provide Works to the Dyslexic in an Accessible Way

On 1 Aug. 2022, the National Copyright Administration of China promulgated the “Interim Provisions on Providing Works to the Dyslexic in an Accessible Way” (以無障礙方式向閱讀障礙者提供作品暫行規定).

Dyslexics are people with visual disabilities and those who cannot read properly due to visual impairments, perceptual disturbance, physical disabilities, or other reasons.

An accessible format copy refers to a version of a work that can be perceived and effectively used by the dyslexic in an alternative way or form.

An accessible format service agency may produce accessible format copies of published works in a non-profit way and make them available to the dyslexic without permission and payment to copyright holders.
